Listing Description

We’ve been to Bellanger the New Corbin & King venture and like all their places it’s an event. On Islington Green it attracts the great and the good of the area as you’d expect from a group that owns Piccadilly’s place to be seen, The Wolseley. If you want to experience french/german cuisine i.e. Alsacienne food, you won’t be disappointed. There are plenty of sausages on the menu and as always in their places, such as The Delaunay, Fischer’s & Colbert, the attention to detail is on point, right down to the german style glasses on the table – you know those ones with stubby, ridged, green stems.

In Keeping with the Alsace theme there are five types of Saucisses, including boudin blanc with sherry, wild boar with cranberry and venison, plus Schnitzels and Gâteaux Forêt-Noire on the menu. It’s not sophisticated dining but it will be satisfying. As The Evening Standard says it’s

“Terrific fun, but nothing that will make zipping up one’s jeans easier”.

As far as access goes it’s terrific with a smooth flat entrance and the same within. You can drop off outside and you can park on Islington’s red route at various times (find parking information here, it’s quite liberal but I would always ask a parking warden).

Both bar and restaurant are accessible and the disabled toilet is on the restaurant level. Although a little dark with wood panelling, it is up to standard. Oh and the tables are good height for wheelchairs, just a few with leg obstructions.
