If you have read my recent story about my visit to Shoreditch you’ll know we passed a place that looked intriguing. It was McQueen a bar, club and restaurant named after the ‘King of Cool’ Steve – one of my idols. It looked busy and darkly glamorous. The bar looked inviting with leather Chesterfields and we didn’t…
A few weeks ago I and the American Lieutenant went to Shoreditch to update my previous review. There was too much ‘trendiness’ to see in one visit. We started at The Hoxton, Urban Lodge – one of the most disabled aware places I have ever been. I will review in full later, needless to say…
Chinawhite, club, bar & restaurant has not been audited yet but they have a lift and if not working ‘the security’ will help. They don’t think they have a disabled toilet – being checked! So only 1.5 BBS Ticks at moment.
I used to go to The Victoria in Sheen regularly as it was close to the school attended by my niece and nephew and I would wait there for them when I was deputised to do a school run. It used to be a local, not very popular, pub so when it was transformed into a restaurant/bar…
I haven’t been to Smiths but it sounds great from the point of view of disabled access and facilities. When I called they said they had 3 disabled toilets, one on the ground where the bar is, one on the top floor and one on the first. It has four floors and there is a…
Update 1 Aug 2013: We’re reducing the rating to 2.5 BBS Ticks following the teams recent visit. The service in the courtyard brasserie was awful. It was slow in coming and surly, however the upstairs bar and restaurant is still good. So go to the courtyard if you want to be seen but upstairs is…
Happiness Forgets sounds a great bar because they say ‘no wallies’. Unfortunately it’s down approximately 12 stairs so difficult disabled access and no disabled toilet. But I’m going to attempt it with 2 Lieutenants. I’ll report back! Due to this it gets a provisional 1.5BBS Ticks but high on ‘Style’.
Bistrot Bruno Loubet is a modern french Bistrot within the Zetter Hotel which if you read my previous post I gave the hotel 3BBS Ticks. I haven’t dined there yet but given that Bruno Loubet has worked for some of the best chefs in the world I expect it to be good if not sensational?! I do…
The Claude Bosi Oyster Bar is worthy of a separate entry to that of Bibendum building, Restaurant just because it’s a great place to go if you’re out shopping or just want to be ‘trendy’ in Brompton Cross. You can’t book you have to queue for a table but it’s worth it as the seafood…
