Update 1 Aug 2013: We’re reducing the rating to 2.5 BBS Ticks following the teams recent visit. The service in the courtyard brasserie was awful. It was slow in coming and surly, however the upstairs bar and restaurant is still good. So go to the courtyard if you want to be seen but upstairs is much better. You also have to queue for a courtyard table unless you’re a member – I refuse to queue for bad service!!

I used to go to Bluebird a lot as the access was not too bad once you got over the cobbles in the courtyard and taxis can drop you outside. There is a lift into the restaurant/bar and there’s a cafe, food store, wine cellar and bakery in the ground floor and courtyard. This is another D&D London restaurant (previously part of Conran Restaurants) and again serves modern British food. The building is the old Art Deco garage built for the Bluebird Motor Company and is Grade II Listed. They obviously found imaginative ways to incorporate disabled facilities. Well done!!

The bar has a snack menu, which includes oysters & mini burgers and they also serve traditional afternoon tea (a trend in many venues at the moment). It’s a glamorous venue and Bluebird gets 3BBS Ticks.
