I used to go to The Victoria in Sheen regularly as it was close to the school attended by my niece and nephew and I would wait there for them when I was deputised to do a school run. It used to be a local, not very popular, pub so when it was transformed into a restaurant/bar I was very happy. Being so close to a primary school it had to be child friendly and therefore disabled friendly. It was OK when I walked with sticks even though there was a large step; there was an alternative entrance on the flat but via some crazy paving. You could also park very near the entrance. However they do not have a wheelchair accessible toilet – shame!

The food and drink menu is fantastic for such a local Gastro Pub. The chef is Paul Merrett who produces some wonderful food, I particularly like his inventive ‘nibbles’ and ‘small plates’.

It’s well worth a visit if you can handle not having a toilet nearby. They get 2 BBS Ticks and would get more but I can’t rate facilities that don’t exist.
