I went to The Roof Gardens nightclub many years ago. It is now a club and restaurant owned by The Virgin empire. The restaurant is Babylon with a rooftop garden overlooking Kensington High st. Great location and view. We send venues a simple form to fill in regarding access and facilities prior to a visit…
Rules restaurant in Covent Garden serves “classic game cookery, oysters, pies and puddings”. It’s on the ground floor which they say is accessible. I went years ago and I remember the food was good. The Cocktail Bar (Upstairs at Rules) is meant to be one of the best bars in London, hence the reason for…
I and the Sartorial Lieutenant went to the Savoy Grill (a Gordon Ramsay joint) just after the refurbishment of the Savoy Hotel in 2011. It was fine for the wheelchair as it’s flat and at ground level. It was good food and service but as the other tables were rather too close, I found our neighbours…
The Parlour is a high end cocktail bar and eatery located in Canary Wharf. It lies adjacent to One Canada Square , which prior to The Shard, stood as the tallest building in London. Accessibility wise, the transport system around Canary Wharf is excellent. Once inside the Parlour itself, I found the staff incredibly attentive…
Update on The Hoxton Feb 2013: They have 11 Accessible rooms. Look out for the PAD (Pictorial Access Statement) we are producing showing all the less able facilities at The Hoxton. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….. The Hoxton is the most disabled aware place I have been to so far. Situated in Shoreditch on Great Eastern Street it is identified by…
Great Eastern Dining Room in Hoxton is another trendy bar restaurant in Shoreditch without a disabled toilet. Access was ok and it looked good with lush cocktails but my bladder can only take so much. They referred us to the Rivington (where there is no DT either) and the the Hoxton hotel which is a…
If you have read my recent story about my visit to Shoreditch you’ll know we passed a place that looked intriguing. It was McQueen a bar, club and restaurant named after the ‘King of Cool’ Steve – one of my idols. It looked busy and darkly glamorous. The bar looked inviting with leather Chesterfields and we didn’t…
A few weeks ago I and the American Lieutenant went to Shoreditch to update my previous review. There was too much ‘trendiness’ to see in one visit. We started at The Hoxton, Urban Lodge – one of the most disabled aware places I have ever been. I will review in full later, needless to say…
Chinawhite, club, bar & restaurant has not been audited yet but they have a lift and if not working ‘the security’ will help. They don’t think they have a disabled toilet – being checked! So only 1.5 BBS Ticks at moment.
