Lieutenant No 2 has insisted I give SAID in Soho a mention and having tasted their chocolate with Himalayan Salt, I can only agree to his request. This new branch of a Rome chocolate shop (SAID est c.1920) is in Broadwick St., Soho. The hot chocolate is displayed in little cauldrons behind the glass counter and you can sit and have a cup of high quality hot chocolate whilst choosing which bars you might want to buy. Not as fussy as other chocolatiers but nonetheless a cool place to go especially if you want something different from the ubiquitous coffee shop.

I also went to see Wolf of Wall Street and as usual went to Vue Cinema in Westfield. They still can’t get the ticketing right even though I ring in advance and they also, occasionally, ask for proof of my disability via a CEA card, to which I say ‘throw me out of the chair and see what happens’… Nevertheless the disabled seats are really good and the film was brilliant even though it reminded me of my excess in the 80’s/90’s when I was first employed in sales for an American software company.

The soundtrack is excellent and includes the Foo Fighters, Ian Dury, Bo Diddley, Billy Joel, amongst others. The story is of a born salesman Jordan Belfort and how his foray into ‘Penny Stock’ trading sends him into a spiral of greed, drugs, women and money. One of the best scenes is with Matthew McConaughey where he and Leonardo Di Caprio learn to ‘relieve stress’ to a ‘money chant’. As the Telegraph says the film is

“gaudy, superficial and blackly funny, and its glitter is the sum of a series of small, perfectly cut scenes: Matthew McConaughey as a cynical, whacked-out Wall Street partner languidly offering the young Belfort a “tootski” of cocaine;”………See below,

I’m going to use it with all BBS employees. a great film even though it’s 3 hours long.

Lastly, on Sunday I went to see Man UTD play Chelsea where we (Man UTD) were good for 15 minutes and then lost the plot…..I can’t bring myself to say anymore on the subject except that the disabled seating and service at Chelsea FC is still excellent, see my previous review of Stamford Bridge. Off to watch them play Sunderland on SKY tonight so I may, or may not, mention them next week!?!
