The Blue Badge Access Awards Happened last week and one key award deserves recognition – The Worst Accessible Toilet……….
Before we go into that we should mention the nominees and winner of the HEWI Award for Best Accessible Toilet. The nominees were,
8 Bar, The Londoner, Marsham Court Hotel, Bournemouth, Tate, Liverpool, Salvation Bar, Hotel Brooklyn, Manchester, The Shangri-La hotel, London, Space Centre, Leics., Jose Pissarro, London, Kricket, Soho and Great Scotland Yard Hotel.
…..The Winner was The Shangri-La at The Shard designed by Dexter Moren Associates. They won as the Japanese style wash and dry feature was just lovely as were the smells!
Now onto the Worst Accessible Toilets or Ludicrous Loos………There was a fine bunch of losers from a piano to fresh food. Nominated were – Hyatt Birmingham, Wagamama Winchester and two unknown places, one was in Seville –
and the Winner was The NoMad hotel London. A new hotel yet the toilet was too low, there were only 2 rails and the cord didn’t reach the floor – Named & Shamed!!
