Le Saint-James Hotel is located 10 minutes from central Bordeaux in Bouliac and sits on the ‘Balcony of Bordeaux’, named for its panoramic views of the region.

They are a Relais & Chateaux hotel with an accessible room and bathroom, on the second floor of the main building. We haven’t been we’re just taking them at their word. In September to promote the Medoc marathon, held in Pauillac on the 9th, rooms are being offered at £215 per night. 

Obviously you don’t have to take part but it’s probably worth watching , as……

“dotted along the route are 23 wine stops; a true celebration of the region’s finest produce. Once the event is complete, each runner receives a celebratory bottle of wine, and a breath-taking firework display will explode into action, to end the day.” Not sure what state the runners will be in??

 It has a Michelin-starred restaurant and cookery school, Côté Cour, which also appears accessible. The chef Nicolas Magie serves food that is ‘inventive, creative cuisine that never strays too far from the great classics,’ in the restaurant that ‘hugs’  the countryside ‘like a terraced garden’.

If anyone’s been let us know but in the meantime they get an unaudited 2.5 BBS Ticks. Maybe they should be nominated for our best ‘European BBS Awards 2017’ in October?? It was won by Vienna’s Steirerecke last year.
