In our regular item the ‘D’ List we let you know of new things from the world of disability from design to fashion to news that makes a difference or makes us laugh. This time we’ve reviewed and trialled some stylish wheelchair gloves, we’ve found a useful resource that sounds like a periodical from Not the Nine O’Clock News and some of our favourite walking canes are now available to buy in the UK.

First we decided to start a regular video review of items we’ve heard of but never used. This video shows the Jaunty Wheelchair Gloves – or how to race like Tanni….

Tanni Leather Wheelchair Gloves Available in Black, Turquoise or Navy Blue

They are the best looking gloves we’ve found so far and are produced by designed2enable. If you want to buy a pair click here.

Second is a list of hotels that have rooms with hoists. We reviewed Gwel an Mor a holiday resort in Portreath, Cornwall and the Dorsett Hotel in Shepherd’s Bush, London. These are the most stylish places we found with room hoists however there is an extensive list of places in the Ceiling Hoists User Club – sounds like a periodical for Not the Nine o’Clock News??!!

Third we also previously reviewed in our ‘Trendy Stick Guide’, the great canes from Top & Derby in Canada. The Chatfield canes have silicon handles that allow the sticks to lean against a wall without continually falling over, they also make them easy to grip. They come in some great colourways and we’re pleased to hear that designed2enable will now be supplying them in the UK, just click here to buy.
