Last week we looked at accessible and stylish fashion from the High Street for girls and as promised here are some key pieces for the ‘Gents’ in 2016:
First we have to mention the catwalk from Topman A/W16(video below). They’ve made the latest trends ‘accidentally accessible’ (a new style genre, for men with disabilities). Baggy trousers & soft, velvety textures are accompanied with over-sized jackets/coats. All are balanced with chunky jumpers and shoes.
Another favourite of the ‘people in the know’ is the menswear collection by Lou Dalton . She designs for the ‘Modern Gent’ and her influence for A/W16 was the beauty of the Shetland Islands and the rugged sea-faring style of their men, #ShetlandBoys. Also an ‘accidentally accessible’ range of clothing with oversized coats, chunky jumpers and loose flowing trousers. The fabrics included brushed wool and velour accompanied by white, rugged, high top boots. Her collections can be found at Dover Street Market, London, Liberty, London, Hervia, Manchester.
As highlighted in our previous piece on womenswear, white trainers are everywhere following the fashionista’s favourite AMI Alexandre Matiussi. AMI is available from Matches, Mr Porter and Farfetch.
So a lot to look forward to later in 2016 but what’s available now on the ‘High Street’? We’ve found some great pieces but they all seem to be dark colours even though summer is around the corner??
Hope the Gents found something to make them feel like a ‘Shetland Boy’ – next week Ep3 Wide Fitting Shoes…………..
