The new season trends are popping up all over the high street and online, so we’ve picked a few ‘on trend’ pieces with a focus on style and comfort that are suitable for seated people. Guaranteed to keep you looking good as you head out using our app to find accessible places!!
First off is a pair of relaxed crepe trousers from Jigsaw at £120. I’ve got a pair in black that are my new favourites, but they also come in navy. They’re really easy to get on and off with a well-made elasticated, satin covered waistband that actually stays in place meaning that really uncomfortable thing of twisted elastic hasn’t happened. The skin side of the fabric is silky for added comfort and ease of slipping on. Chic and versatile, these are the kind of pants you can dress up or down.
Match with a silk and viscose shirt from All Saints in taupe or maybe chalk white. No sleeves to mess about with, just a gorgeous soft feel and looks great under a cropped jacket. If you prefer something a little more feminine, Reiss have a beautiful rose pink sleeveless top that combines a luxe silk front panel with a super comfortable lyocell back panel. Alternatively wear them with the Cecily jumper, again from All Saints, that combines relaxed fitting with an interesting shoulder cut out – always good to emphasise the shoulders when you’re legs are out of view!
When it comes to jackets I always find a cropped jacket that much more comfortable, and this one from Uterque (Zara’s grown-up sister brand available online) has the added advantage of one large button that makes fastening a lot easier. With a chic cocoon cut and batwing style sleeves this jacket is set to become one of my wardrobe staples. French Connection’s more casual cropped jacket with cool contrasting tweed panels would look great with the Jigsaw trousers in black
The white trainers trend is still going strong, and I love wearing something that is practical and comfortable, as well as stylish. If you really want to splash out head to NikeLab at Dover Street Market or in Shoreditch, where you can get trainers exactly to the size of your feet and to your preferred design. The latest ‘fashionista’ brand is AMI Alexandre Mattiussi (sadly for men only), and his latest design on the catwalk is white low-top white leather with Velcro – hurrah. We’ve found a cheaper version from La Redoute and Wide Fit Shoes have a few trainers that are wider (however beware of their shoe range – not good). But the best we’ve found are a New Balance version in a wide fit with soft white leather.
Next week’s for the boys featuring loose fit “Shetland’ fashion from menswear designer LOUD.
