I mentioned before in my Weds Wrap that I’m going to be speaking at Digital Shoreditch this month. It turns out that a lot of time needs to be spent preparing for this and honing my speech to perfection. This week I’ve had to write up a brief synopsis of what BBS is all about and what I’m going to be talking about, to put on their website. It was a bit wearing trying to get it absolutely right.

As a result of that stress and grind I decided to cheer myself up with a drastic makeover. Well it was either that or a rush of blood to the head that sent me off to the hairdressers to change my hair totally blonde on Thursday!! I’m very happy with the new look which has me feeling ready for the summer.
Then I had to go somewhere nice with my new haircut! So for lunch on Friday I went to Corrigan’s – an old favourite of mine. The food was, as per usual, absolutely fantastic. I had brill with new season asparagus and a soft boiled egg. When I originally reviewed Corrigan’s I had to create a new score of 2.5+ BBS Ticks because the access was hairy but I enjoyed it so much!! Lucky thing that I make up all the rules for the Ticks system.
I spent the next few days hibernating and conserving all my energy for the Arsenal match at 4pm on Sunday. I won’t mention who they were playing because I don’t want to sound like I’m bragging again. The Emirates had good disabled access, just like most other modern stadiums I’ve been to. It was a brilliant stadium and the atmosphere, in the away end at least, was amazing.
I felt totally drunk even though I’d only had a glass or two of wine before the game (I think it must have been the atmosphere). We went to The Woodbine, on Blackstock Road, which is a good old-fashioned pub. The bouncer helped me in and gave me a table to sit at, so the access was fine, although I’m not sure if there’s a disabled loo in there. It was perfect for a pre-game drink and all the local Gooners were friendly when they could easily have been less welcoming.

So it’s been a pretty enjoyable seven days really, even if it’s easy to forget that in the darker days at the beginning of a new week. I’ve never been a fan of Mondays. Later this week we’ve got some pretty interesting events coming up too:
I’m very excited to be sending the American Lieutenant and Amanda the Commanda to Naidex on Thursday. They’re going to be reporting back to me on what they find. We’ve never been before but I’m sure it should be full of products to discover and people to connect with. If nothing else, it must be a more productive trip than our visit to the Ideal Home Show last month!
I’m also going to see the Harlequins playing rugby on Saturday. So I will be reporting back on how access in rugby grounds compares to the access in the various football grounds I’ve been to.
Hey Blondie, I am enjoying your wednesday wraps.
