Two weeks ago, we posted our review of the 2013 Ideal Home Show. In the article, we said that we had been a little underwhelmed at the amount of disability friendly products on display at the Home Show. The less able market is huge and it seemed a little short sighted of them to not have been more inclusive. We then went on to  suggest a range of other products that could have been included at the show.

Afterwards we got in touch with the Ideal Home Show to see if they had a response to our review of this year’s show. We’re happy to say that they have replied to us saying that they plan to take into account our criticism for next year.

Here’s what they had to say:

“At the Ideal Home Show we strive to include as many different products for as many different lifestyles as possible.

From reading your article there seems to be some more brands that we could approach in order to increase our offering at the show.

We will therefore pass these comments onto the sales team to look into for the 2014 event.”

Hopefully they will follow through on this. Of course, it’s easy to say that they’ll have more products for the less able now, when the 2013 show is over; it’s another thing to go through with it in 2014. Lets hope that they do.

For now, it would be unreasonable to do anything other than take their word for it. We’ll just have to wait until next year to find out.

Until then, you can always check out the second half of the review which has some ideas for the Ideal Accessible Home.
