May 2014, Update on Colbert Brasserie, they’re downgraded to 2 BBS Ticks as at a recent visit I was chastised for not telling them I was in a wheelchair!!

Well folks I still have a hangover after the Buzz of Digital Shoreditch, I reviewed this in my last Weds Wrap. On the Thursday we had a brainstorming lunch at the Boundary Rooftop, it was fab. Even though it was chilly outside their new conservatory kept us warm and served great food – I recommend the tuna. Still a good view but now with added warmth. The Boundary Rooftop gets 3 BBS Ticks for ultimate understated style.

The Rooftop, at the Boundary Hotel – 3 BBS Ticks for understated style and the new conservatory which means you can still take in the view whatever the weather. Lovely!

We were trying to work out how we could use new technology such as 3D images to make our Mobile App more user friendly. Another idea was to have an immediate review feature based on your location/ venue. Any other ideas let us know by clicking here.

I know I think the BBS App is perfect but I’m sure others see room for improvement, any ideas get in touch through ‘Contact Us’

We also went to the opening of the new Bumpkin in Chelsea but on the wrong day – Doh!. It’s situated next to the Chelsea Gardener  and the Bumpkin Pop Up Garden had plenty of heaters and umbrellas to ward off the hailstorms we encountered! Should be a good addition to affordable eating in Chelsea once it opens in mid June.

I stayed in Chelsea for Bank Holiday Monday and with the sun shining I visited Colbert on Sloane Square for lunch. Part of the group that own the Wolseley , Brasserie Zedel and Delaunay, this is again a great cafe/brasserie in ‘Le Style Francais’. Food and champagne was good but you go for the people watching and star spotting. On one side I had an overly loud Frenchman talking about his visits to LA and Cannes (as if we cared!) and on the other was the actor who played Moriarty (Andrew Scott) in the BBC’s Sherlock – very quiet and unassuming compared to our other neighbour. Didn’t use the disabled loo as the place does get crowded and my wheelchair got knocked by passers-by so the journey through the crowd was too complicated. Also be aware there is a small metal ridge at the entrance that could stop your progress! The bar also looked a good bet but wherever you go it’s best to book if you don’t want to queue at busy times – which seemed to be all the time. They get 2.5 BBS Ticks as it’s an enjoyable/eventful place to go.
