Listing Description

For half term I went to Norfolk with the family. Choosing where to go was determined by whether a dog and a disabled person could be accommodated (I don’t think it was in that order??). My  sister found a suitable hotel i.e. trendy and dog/ disabled friendly. We went to the Brancaster on the Norfolk coast and stayed at Titchwell Manor. The hotel had a lovely disabled room with a walk in shower. My nephew ( Declan the Designated Lieutenant) set up the portable bed rail and I was all set.

We had an excellent meal there and the breakfast stole the show with fresh produce and homemade bread.

We visited the coast but I couldn’t get near the sea as the walkway didn’t go that far. However, there were lots of great pubs and restaurants to visit serving fresh seafood. Two we visited were The Ship and The White Horse both disabled friendly and both accommodated dogs in the bar. The White Horse had a beautiful view of the sea and a terrace for warmer days. The food at both was as good, if not better than,  the Gastro pubs of London.

We also went to Burnham Market – known as ‘Little Chelsea’. Hunter wellies abounded. Great shopping and very busy at half term. Only stayed long enough to buy some jewellery from a shop in a converted church, which had an extensive and interesting collection (it turned out to be a concession in Selfridges, London). I then found what I thought was an exclusive, boutique, clothes shop, only to find it was also in The Kings Rd., London. Didn’t stop me shopping though.

All and all, me and the dog  had a good time.

Titchwell Manor gets 2.5 BBSTicks, The Ship gets 2 BBS Ticks and the White Horse gets 2.5 BBS Ticks
