Listing Description

We always loving receiving reviews from our readers, so thank-you Evelyn Laity for sending this one in…

The Wheal Dream Bar and Restaurant, a popular location with the locals “aims to produce quality simply cooked food, prepared using the finest local ingredients, served in a welcoming atmosphere.”

An Aesthetically Pleasing Appetiser
An Aesthetically Pleasing Appetiser

Their award winning carvery has proven to be hugely popular with locals and holiday makers alike, by “selecting the finest local cuts of meat and farm grown vegetables our reputation speaks for itself.”

Evelyn informs us that “during improvements to the venue, they made the fully accessible ground floor toilet into two extremely small inaccessible toilets and provided a new toilet up two steps, which they describe as “DISABLED” on the door.  A wheelchair just fits in by using portable ramps which require some diners to move out of the way, once inside, there are no grab rails at all and the basin and hand dryer are not at wheelchair height.”

When the problems were pointed out to Wheal Dream, they apologised, but did nothing to address the problems.  Therefore, you are advised to avoid this venue if you have a wheelchair user in your party.

We award the Wheal Dream 1.5 BBS ticks as there toilets labelled “disabled” are not accessible.

A truly sweet dessert
Delicious carvery being prepared
