Listing Description

Watatunga Wildlife Reserve Near Kings Lynn.

As a group of 5, son plus partner, daughter in a wheelchair and parents, it’s difficult to find things we can all do together. We were able to have a 90 min. Safari where our daughter was in a wheelchair trailer with adequate wheel locking clamps and we were in the golf style buggies. It was great to be able to take pictures of the rare Bongo, many different deer and antelopes, wildebeest, water buffaloes and exotic birds. Good parking, access ramps and very helpful staff as well as an accessible toilet. All this on top of the excellent conservation the centre is doing in addition to making good use of an abandoned quarry and gravel pits. Well worth the money but book in good time.

NB If you want to stay the Major’s Lodge is accessible with a wet room & (very long) ramped access. But you need 8 friends to use all the bedrooms!

They also have two hearing loop devices for hearing aids fitted with a telecoil and two large print guide books per tour. For further information, please refer to our Day Visitor Access Guide. In the Guide you can see there’s a changingPlaces toilet with adult changing bed.

Major’s Lodge Sleeps 8 (Not Sue I’ve that many Friends) is Watatunga’s Accessible Accommodation
A Very Long Ramp Takes You to The Enclosed Garden
Accessible Wetroom, Spartan & Safari-Like

They get 3 BBS Ticks and a nomination for a Blue Badge Access Award.
