Ever since Jun Tanaka left the now defunct Pearl restaurant in Holborn, (now Holborn Dining Rooms), I’ve been waiting to go to his latest venture The Ninth and it’s just been awarded a Michelin Star in October 2016. He’s been involved with the Street Kitchen in the City but now he’s back to producing ‘simple but refined French Mediterranean-style dishes, all made for sharing’. Can’t wait to go but in the meantime here’s what we know.

The Ninth in Charlotte St. London Has been Awarded a Michelin Star for 2017. Looks Spacious, Bright & They Say It Has Flat Access.

Regarding accessibility they say,

‘we do have access for wheelchairs and do have disabled toilets.’

Short but sweet we will update more fully in November when we’ve been.

The food includes dishes such as razor clam ceviche at £9.50, rabbit confit lasagne, mustard béchamel at £10, chargrilled sea bream, lemon confit and miso, fennel salad at £20 and to finish a tarte tatin for two at £14……….All very reasonable and looks delicious,

Jay Rayner for the Guardian said

‘there is a precision and, at times, an understated brilliance to this restaurant which does set it apart’,

not surprising given he’s worked for chefs like Marco Pierre White, Phil Howard and the Roux Brothers. So for the time being until we’ve audited, we’ll give The Ninth a provisional 2.5 BBS Ticks.
