Located in one of the most accessible hotels in London, The Dorsett (see review), we tried Shikumen after a visit to Vue at Westfield Shopping Centre. We weren’t expecting much, as hotel restaurants usually rest on the laurels of their captive hotel guests. What a surprise, when not only was it totally accessible with plenty of room for wheelchair manoeuvres but the food was some of the best Chinese I’ve ever eaten in London. The Dim Sum was totally delicious and the vegetarian dishes were cooked to perfection such as the ‘Stir-fried Pak Choy with Asparagus, Lotus Root & Mushrooms’.

Really easy to access, smooth flooring, brightly lit, not too noisy, correct height tables and a good disabled toilet just off the dining room. They’ve had rave reviews from Giles Coren, Faye Maschler, Michelin et al. and now from us, they get the max 3 BBS Ticks.
