Listing Description

We went to Rick Stein in Barnes last month after a 3 month wait for a table so we were expecting great things. We weren’t disappointed or overwhelmed just pleasantly satisfied. The building was a favourite haunt as a local restaurant, The Depot, where the access was always good but the disabled toilet wasn’t brilliant. It had fantastic views of the river and you can see the Oxford/Cambridge Boat Race from the windows that stretch the length of the restaurant.

The restaurant is now a step up from being just a local hangout as the food, especially the fish, was extremely well cooked and not over-worked. The flavour of the fish and seafood just spoke for themselves. The service was efficient and friendly and the bill was quite reasonable at £50 each with one glass of wine.

Flat Access at Rick Stein Barnes, Except for Pesky Cobbles . Cars Can Drop Off Outside
Full Length Terrace Has Great Views of The Thames
Tables Good Height, Well-Lit Room & Not Too Noisy

The access is flat except for some annoying cobbles at the front and the building, is well lit and not overly noisy even though the restaurant was full. The floor surface is wood and the table had no obstruction and was at a good height. Cars can drop off right outside but there’s no parking except in nearby congested streets (disabled badges may be exempt but it’s private land). The disabled toilet is brilliant and although I didn’t use it, it’s well decorated and will be nominated for a BBS Award as ‘Best Disabled Loo’. They get a full 2.5-3 BBS Ticks for style and accessibility.

Well Decorated, Equipped and Clean Disabled Loo - Worthy of a BBS Award!
