Listing Description

Update March 2017: Went here on Disabled Access Day and they were really accommodating to our three wheelchair users. No fuss and very attentive. We’d give them the max. 3 BBS Ticks if the toilets weren’t so far away.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

The New Wing at Somerset House houses a cool bar Pennethorne’s which can get busy so best to go off peak or reserve a table. They do their utmost to look after you – last time I visited I had a table set up just for me, outside in the rather grand foyer. Access is good via Waterloo Bridge as there are paving slabs so you can avoid the cobbles. The double doors at the entrance are heavy but there’s usually someone there to help. Inside it’s all flat tiles/wood on the floor but the disabled loos are via the double doors and around a corner outside, then down a ramp so take some ‘help’ or be prepared to push. They are well equipped.

They get 2.5 BBS Ticks as it’s a cool accessible bar.
