Update 2016 Oct: The access at Odette’s is as described except there’s a very small step from the pavement to the outside seating; (2″) and easily negotiated. The garden at the back is accessible if carried down 4/5 steps but not for electric wheelchairs. They have had people visit in electric chairs and they’ve opted to sit at the front verandah seating. Don’t let this put you off as this restaurant has Michelin Star food without the star (unbelievable). We had a set lunch at £20/ea, which I’d highly recommend, as the fresh mushroom starter and grilled red mullet main, were brilliant. The flavours of both were subtle and yet extremely tasty. The interior has flat access in the main room with smooth flooring and the acoustics were good but it wasn’t full. Most importantly the staff made an effort to sit me where I had enough space in what is a narrow building on multiple levels.

Additionally, they believe there’s a disabled toilet available at The Queen’s Pub opposite. We’ll get back to you on that one! Odette’s gets a well deserved 2 BBS Ticks for great/amazing food, a cosy/local ambience and really helpful, friendly staff.

Odette’s is the other restaurant of Chef Bryn Williams. Bryn Williams – Porth Eirias, won the ‘casual’ Restaurant Award at the recent Blue Badge Style Awards and we’re planning to take the Award to them in order to get it to Porth Eirias.

Odette’s Restaurant Has Flat Access & Smooth Floors But Toilets Are Downstairs

We asked about the access at Odette’s and here’s what they said,

“Odette’s is one of London’s original dining rooms, having opened in 1978, which gives it wonderful character but accessibility can be an issue.

The main restaurant dining area itself is accessible for wheelchairs but regretfully, the bathrooms are not.

Odette’s is split across two floors you see. The restaurant is on the ground floor which is fine. The bathrooms however, are on the lower ground floor and unfortunately there is no lift between floors”.

However, should you venture to Odette’s it is in a well served area of London where there may be accessible restrooms nearby. We will update this when we visit.

They get consistently good reviews and the homemade ‘Jaffa cake’ is often mentioned?? They hold 3 AA Rosettes and Timeout readers give them 5/5. So looking forward to going, watch this space! In the meantime we give them an unaudited 2 BBS Ticks.
