just before ‘lockdown’ in February 2020. We arrived at Manchester Piccadilly station and decided to wheel to the hotel as it was only a 5 mins walk according to Google and it would have been had we not got lost. The pavements on the way weren’t bad but some of the kerbs were high. When we eventually found Manchester’s latest ‘destination’ venue – Hotel Brooklyn – we were warmly welcomed from by staff adorned in ‘Brooklyn Esque’ outfits from a speakeasy. It’s located between Chinatown and the famous Gay Quarter of Canal Street so there’s plenty to do outside of the hotel.

Access is completely flat with plenty of visual contrasts between floors and walls. They have 18 Accessible rooms and two with ceiling hoists. The restaurant, reception and conference suites are all flat access with good visual contrasts and plenty of accessible toilets – one of which will be nominated for best Loo in the upcoming Blue Badge Access Awards.
