Hipping Hall is another Hotel in the same group as The Forest Side. A stylish restaurant and hotel on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales and within a few miles of the Lake District, Hipping Hall isn’t very accessible, unlike The Forest Side, although they try and help. Here’s how they describe their rooms/restaurant:

‘Regarding wheelchair access. We currently do not have any disabled rooms. However, we do have Room 8, this is situated on the ground floor out in our cottage. Room 8’s bathroom has a wet room and provides plenty of space……our doors are of a standard size in our rooms………..Our restaurant and toilets in the main house are however wheelchair accessible and we would do all we could to make your stay with us as easy as possible. There is however a small ledge on the entrance to our dining room and a slight step on the entrance to Hipping Hall’s main house’.

Hipping Hall Has No Accessible Rooms – But Restaurant is Accessible. No Disabled Toilet But May be Worth a Trip if You’re of Strong Bladder

The restaurant has 3 AA Rosettes and the Chef Oli Martin has a passion to ‘produce dishes with strong rustic flavours but give them a finesse and style that you would expect to find in the very best fine dining restaurants’. So it’s probably worth a visit especially as The telegraph says,

‘Nothing we ate was short of divine, from the glass of foaming butternut squash and parmesan amongst the canapés to the perfect eggs Benedict at breakfast by way of dinner that was uncomplicated yet full of punchy flavours. There’s no Michelin-star here, for some unaccountable reason, “but we really don’t mind” says the chef. “It means that people come without expectations and leave agreeably surprised”.’

Unfortunately, on closer questioning there is no disabled toilet in the common areas. So although it looks stylish in a ‘rugged’ way we can only give them 1.5 BBS Ticks
