Listing Description

The Five Fields was visited last year by myself and No.1 Lieutenant and it was the latest, secret, haunt in Chelsea. Serving fresh seasonal and very ‘clean’ food i.e. there was no over-use of seasoning, sugar or butter. Now, however, the word is out and it’s difficult to get a table due to it’s popularity. They produce,

‘elegant and playful modern British cooking with an emphasis on native British artisanal produce.’

The Telegraph described the food as ‘culinary wizardry’ although the customers ‘conformed to the local (Chelsea) stereotype’. We agree on both counts but the diners were not too ‘Made in Chelsea’ and a menu of ‘Scallop with Potato and Coffee’ and ‘Dover Sole, Cauliflower, Rhubarb and Coconut’ certainly outweighs any problems with the clientele. The price was good as well at £60 for three courses.

The access was good even though it’s on the small side. You can park nearby as long as you comply with Kensington & Chelsea parking restrictions. There was a small lip into the restaurant and you can see the well designed disabled toilet below.

The dining room itself was small but with plenty of room for my wheelchair and I had no problem sitting at the table without getting bumped. Would love to go again but reservations are hard to get. As is our 3 BBSTicks but The Five Fields has achieved our maximum rating.

Good Smooth Flooring, Plenty of Light & Low Ceiling Helped to Reduce Noise. A really Pleasant Environment
