Listing Description

We recently reviewed Three Chimney’s on The Isle of Skye in Scotland to whom we awarded 2.5 BBS Ticks for disabled access with style. As a result we were tipped off about another good restaurant on the west coast of Scotland in Oban – Etive.

They have won accolades for their food such as a listing in ViaMichelin, 2 AA Rosettes and the ‘gold medal for its commitment to real and local food at the inaugural Scottish Food Awards 2017’.

Flat Access at Etive, Oban But No Disabled Toilet
Flat Access at Etive, Oban But No Disabled Toilet

The menu changes according to season and is ‘locally sourced….from the sea or land’ and at the time of writing Perthshire Lamb, Tarbert Langoustines and Scallops were all featured. They also have an imaginative wine, malt whisky and gin list.

Fresh & Local Tarbert Langoustines Feature on ‘Sea Meets Land’ Menu
Imaginative Servings of ‘Sea Meets Land’ & Creates a Fog!
Homemade Petit Fours Accompanied By What Else But a Malt Whisky

Formerly located in the village of Taynuilt they are now to be found in a former curry house in Oban. Although the access is flat there is no disabled toilet and they’re not sure if there’s one nearby. So they get a provisional 1.5 BBS Ticks and if anyone has been please send a review here.
