Listing Description

The Dominion Theatre makes a trip to a show an easy and really enjoyable experience. We were met within seconds in the foyer, which has step-free access from the pavement, by a lovely member of front-of-house staff. He led us back outside to a side door which leads to the Dominion’s Nederlander Box which also has level access from the street. The box (like a royal box) can take 3 wheelchairs, along with their companions who have chairs to sit on which can be moved so everyone gets a goood view.  The box has a dedicated accessible toilet.

On the evening I visited there were five of us in the box, I was in my chair and there was another theatre goer who was using crutches, so no queues for the loo. At the interval a member of staff visited and went to get drinks and snacks for us, so no queues for that either. Also, there were a couple of side tables for our drinks so instead of having to gulp them down we could sip them through the second half. The thing which pleased me most was the ease with which all this was done – I didn’t feel like I was a nuisance or that I was in the way. I felt like a valued, and special, customer.
