Listing Description

Crossbasket Castle Hotel is located very near to Glasgow and for an old estate it’s very accessible………

Here’s what they say about access:

“On the estate we have the Main Castle & The Hotel.

We have adapted the main castle where possible to make it as accessible as possible. We can arrange a ramp for wheelchair users as there are steps into all entrances. We also have an accessible bathroom on the ground floor. We do have an elevator in the main house. Please note some of the rooms in the main castle are not the most accessible given the old nature of the building.

As the new hotel part of the estate has recently been built it has been suitably adapted for accessibility requirements. We have specially adapted Junior suites which are fully accessible.”

More information can be found here.

The Room Looks Luxurious
And Plenty of Room Around the Bed
A Tablet by The Bed for Alarms
Good looking bathroom and good. contrast between wall and floor
Black Grab rails are Very ‘Deco’
And Plenty of Bars in The Wetroom Shower

One of two restaurants is Trocadero’s ,

‘A destination for the wonder seekers, for those in pursuit of awe. It’s pure escapism.’

Trocadero’s Restaurant is Advised by Michel Roux
More Art Deco in the Restaurant
And at Night a Speakeasy Vibe Which Unlike Many of it’s kind it is Accessible

Here’s what they say about accessibility throughout the hotel and restaurants,

‘Our entrance is fully accessible for all guests- all one level with double width entrance doors. Vehicles can pull up at the door and we have no curbs to climb. We have 4 accessible car parking spaces serving the property with ramp access to the main reception doors. We also have a 6-seater golf buggy to help our guests travel between spaces on our property.

Our reception area has lots of space and seating for guests who may wish to sit during the check in process. We do not have a hearing loop at this moment; however, this is something we are currently exploring. Our public toilets are also on the ground floor with an accessible toilet for guests enjoying our public spaces. Our first-floor rooms are accessible by lift or stairs.

We have two restaurants on property- Foveran’s, where we serve breakfast and lunch and Trocadero’s, our dinner and entertainment restaurant. We have a wide ramp system based in Foveran’s which allows access to our tables in this space, with an accessible toilet to the back of the restaurant. Two sets of double doors in this space also allow access to Trocadero’s tables. In Trocadero’s, as well as the main restaurant floor, we also have our Terrace- another gorgeous dining space with outdoor access. Again, this is all on the same level so our guests can easily pass through all 3 spaces. A table in Trocadero’s Terrace is also a great option for guests with any hearing or sensory needs, as it is still part of the main restaurant and therefore the lively atmosphere but with glass doors and curtains which can be closed for quiet and/or privacy. We pride ourselves in the fact that no matter where our guests are seated, they will still receive 5-star luxury service. ‘

They excel with regard to looking after everyone, disabled or not and received a nomination in the 24/25 Blue Badge Access Awards as Best Luxury Hotel. They didn’t win but could at the 25/26 Awards and they also get a provisional 3 BBS Ticks for access, facilities and style! Can’t wait to visit! If you have a nomination for the 25/26 Awards please get in contact.
