Listing Description

I have frequented Cecconi’s for a number of years as it’s in ‘The Golden Triangle’ of my favourite restaurants which include Sketch and Sartoria. Located just behind the Royal Academy of Arts and just off New Bond St., it gets an interesting clientele who are worth ‘people watching’. The cars and chauffeurs alone are worth a second glance;  two white Ferraris went past ‘in convoy’ as I was sitting outside!

Getting a table is difficult unless you go at an ‘off peak’ time but at least they serve food and drinks all day. The food is good Italian and I love the large olives they serve with my glass of Champagne. All the pasta is delicious as well as the calamari fritti and the beef carpaccio. You can have a snack or a full meal and it is very busy and sociable, with good Italian service and efficiency.

It’s all on the flat and there is a disabled toilet, which sometimes has to be cleared of chairs before use. The staff are always helpful and I’ve noticed there have been other customers on crutches using the restaurant. The other plus is that the chairs are quite low so for a change a wheelchair user is at the same height as everyone else at the table.

The decor is super and all in all Cecconi’s is the utmost in ‘style’ both with regard to ambience and clientele.

Cecconi’s gets 3BBS Ticks
