Listing Description

Winner of Best Budget Bar at The Blue Badge access Awards 2019/20, Caya Club is an inclusive coffee house and workspace in Brixton.

Nominated by a customer, they won the award because although they’re small and independent they’ve done their utmost to make the space accessible to all. There’s a portable ramp to overcome the front step, the doorway is wide enough for wheelchairs and there’s an accessible toilet which has “a grab rail on the inside of the door and 2 more by the toilet. There is sensor lighting (no light switch). The toilet itself and the flush are accessible. We have a low hung sink with an accessible mixer tap. Finally there is also an accessible slide lock on the door “. They welcome assistance dogs and there’s plenty of space to move between tables.

They also have great coffee and are very welcoming as CAYA means ‘come as you are’, the very definition of inclusion. They get a well deserved 2.5 BBS Ticks.
