The Alhambra theatre was built in 1912 and has been the ‘Jewel in Bradford’s Crown’ ever since (according to their own press). Refurbished in 1980 it has good access and information on its site. Penny from Bradford has confirmed that access is good, as are the accessible toilets. They say there are “6 wheelchair spaces at the Alhambra Theatre and …. level access is via Great Horton Road.” Unfortunately they don’t say where the wheelchair seats are or the disabled toilets however, you are allocated a “welcome host” to help you. There are also BSL and captioned performances and designated disabled parking bays on Morley Street and Randall Well Street.

Most importantly there’s a lift to the restaurant at Dress Circle level and the bar is on the ground floor.

I also and the car in front of me received a parking ticket in the same spot.
When booking my ticket I did enquire if there was disabled parking.
I was told there was bit not how to access it.
There are bollards which I didn’t know how to operate. On asking a member of staff in the theatre I was told you have to press a button and show your blue badge to a camera.
There are a few disabled parking spots on a street to the left. Two cars parked in disabled spots with no blue badge showing,one a taxi. I wonder if they got a ticket!
Instructions on how to access disabled parking would have helped . An afternoon at the theatre with a 92 year old with dementia tarnished!

Please could someone tell me how to access the area at the side of The Alhambra theatre for disabled parking. I have just had a great evening watching Joseph and his technicolour dream coat only to come out and find a parking fine on my car as I didn’t realise disabled parking wasn’t allowed in the spaces further up the side of the theatre, where coaches are sometimes parked there.
