Mary Macleod, CEO BITC & MP Brentford & Isleworth 2010-2015

“We are all aware of Fiona’s great style but her amazing drive and determination in harnessing the energy of UCL to work together to produce the Blue Badge Style Mobile App is fantastic…..It is a daunting world from a wheelchair or when you simply don’t have the mobility of others – think of the challenges encountered when you hit the town. This App means you aren’t going to be horrendously surprised by the unexpected steps or narrow doors – instead of going out feeling apprehensive you will be arriving in style…….This is a local Brentford entrepreneur who wants to change things and grow a business for and with the ‘Less Able’. Blue Badge Style is an embryonic social network providing information for ‘A less Able lifestyle”

“Making buildings more accessible not only makes for a more equal society but also helps businesses unlock the purple pound, the £249 billion a year spending power of disabled people. This is why it’s good to see Blue Badge Style encouraging other organisations to take creative approaches to making spaces more accessible for disabled people.”
