Following the success at the EIB Institute, Social Innovation Tournament in 2014 we spent some of the winnings on updating our Mobile App. We made it more interactive and updated the look and feel. Unfortunately it’s only available on iPhone and iPAD at the moment and is free to download from iTunes here. Although we have reviewed many places in London it does have plenty of reviews of places in the rest of the UK and Europe….go take a look.

BBS App Map Screen
BBS App Locates Cool places Near Your location & Rates on Style, Accessibility & Facilities Using BBS Ticks.

It finds cool places to go near your location and shows ‘at a glance’, using our BBS Tick rating, the style, accessibility and facilities of a venue. You can then sort by any of these ratings as well as by distance and overall rating (aggregated to a maximum of 3 BBS Ticks).

App sort screen
You Can Sort by Name, Distance, Accessibility, Facilities & of Course Style

The ‘Detail’ screen of a venue shows immediately our ratings, lets you contact the venue direct, read a review and see it on the map. Using the ‘settings button you can change the text size and enable ‘Text to Speech’. Using the news feed you can keep up to date with our latest blog on ‘what to do’, ‘where to go’ and ‘what to buy’ – whatever the disability, whatever your style.

Detail Screen
The App Detail Screen Gives You Information on a Venue so You Can Decide Whether to Visit or Not! It also Shows a Review & The Venue’s Website When you Scroll Down

Another new feature uses the Google Street View to explore the surrounding area of the venue.

We also link you to a PAD – Pictorial Access Description if one exists. If the venue doesn’t have one tell them to get one!

Even more exciting is the implementation of ‘Pin Drop Reviews’ If you are somewhere and you want to send a review you can click on the pin, it will automatically recognise the address and you can send your own review immediately to BBS HQ. We publish all reviews as long a they have no ‘bad language’, and we don’t mean the bad use of grammar….!!
