We looked at accessible spas in a previous article and by popular demand we’ve updated it for 2019.
First is the Catey Accessible Hotel Winner for 2018, Rudding Park in Harrogate,

Which not only has great accessible rooms but also an accessible Roof Top Spa. This video shows the access and hotel rooms…..
…and this one shows the hotel spa accessibility…….& for once there’s a lift into the pool!
So a well deserved 3 BBS Ticks for Rudding Park, even though the music in the videos is as annoying as any ‘lift musak’!!
The Grove, Hertfordshire is next,

It also looks good and has a history going back to the 1800’s, part of this is Grade II Listed. So it’s impressive that they have 2 accessible bedrooms with grab rails in the bathrooms. There are buggies to transport you around the grounds – if you need them? – and the Spa is accessible. There are grab rails into the pool, an accessible changing room and rise & fall treatment tables. So a 5 Star Hotel that can give you a 5 Star accessible stay. Another provisional 3 BBS Ticks.
The Langdale, Brimstone spa in the Lake District,

We reviewed this previously and gave them a good report as they have done their utmost to make the hotel and spa accessible. One of the new breed of trendy boutique hotels to be found in the Lake District it features rooms scattered around a lake. Full details on their accessible bedrooms and spa can be found on this link. There are accessible spa rooms, changing rooms and height adjustable beds but the pools are accessed via steps with a grab rail so just 2.5 BBS Ticks for Brimstone Spa.

Some other spas we reviewed previously are included In this blog, here are the best of them:
The 5 Star Lucknam Park in Bath is one of the best with accessible spa rooms, changing facilities plus a hoist into the pool, 3 BBS Ticks. Coworth Park in Ascot is one we’ve actually tried but no hoist and the changing tables are fixed so just 2 BBS Ticks. Another good one is Chewton Glen, Hampshire , which has access all areas and a hoist into the pool , they got 2.5/3 BBS Ticks.

If there’s any we’ve missed tell us here, and here’s to looking & feeling good for high summer!
