When we first started BBS we wrote a review of portable equipment and we recommended this bedrail as it was the only one that worked with divans and slatted beds.
For once things have progressed thanks to Stander Inc. The original rail was huge and had to go as oversized luggage on a plane so we bought the Bed Rail Advantage – Traveller. Designed by a husband and wife team, the husband being a ‘rocket scientist’!! Not only is it small enough for hand luggage, it’s much easier to assemble and secure. It also looks less ‘hospital like’ and is somewhat discreet.
We can definitely say it’s BBS Recommended, even though the securing straps have to go under the mattress and on a recent trip the double bed was too wide to wrap around. However, we managed to strap it to the legs of the bedside table – job done! The pocket is removable so you can grab at the side and top of the rail. I bought mine from Mobility Choices for £53.25 with a VAT exemption and it’s now an essential part of my luggage.
