Ever since BBS was created we’ve always been on the lookout for stylish designs and this is no exception. The FOXii is an alternative oxygen inhalation device for people with Cystic Fibrosis and other respiratory problems. It removes the need for oxygen tanks that are cumbersome and the ultimate in pragmatism over style.
FOXii Alternative Oxygen Tank
Llinos Mai Bolton designed this wearable piece of apparatus as part of her final degree in Product Design at Swansea Met University. It was..
“Designed for young adults and teenagers to promote positive body image…….” I think some old adults would like this as well??? (Ed).
The FOXii – Disability With Style
It’s a wearable inhalation product that uses crystals that absorbs, stores and releases continual oxygen at high concentrated levels. The crystals can be recycled continually throughout the day eliminating the need to carry multiple and heavy oxygen cylinders. Llinos says,
“Many fashion designers such as Mcqueen inspire Foxii, My product is a statement piece that reduces labelling and stigmatism and promotes positive body image. Medical research has shown that continual use of nasal specs are very damaging to the nasal cavity therefore Foxii introduces an alternative method of oxygen inhalation”
She hopes it may be adopted in other areas such as sports! We hope so too, this is probably the only way manufacturers will take it into production – as with many of the other products we’ve discovered over the years.
