Ayrton Senna is the next on our list for the What If treatment. A good looking Brazilian racing driver who died in 1994 at the Formula One event in San Marino. He came from a wealthy background and raced in Formula One for just 10 years before he died. During that time and since, he was widely regarded as the best ever Formula One driver. If anyone who watched the film of his life, ‘Senna’, will know, he was a bit of a ‘playboy’ but also deeply religious. He won the drivers championship three times and was a national hero in Brazil.
What if however……….
he’d been born with disability would he have taken another career route in the 80’s?
he’d lost his legs, would he have carried on racing?
as a disabled driver would he’ve been allowed to race in Formula One?
would car technology have advanced quicker with a famous disabled driver?
would he still have been a ‘playboy’?
would he have been quite so religious?
