In the coming weeks we are going to be posting images of the famous people, past and present but they won’t be as you remember them…
What if…?
Marylin Monroe was in wheelchair, would she still be as iconic as she is today?
Would she have been seen as any less attractive?
What if the people we know as singers were Paralympians?
If a powerful leader was in a wheelchair, would they have been somehow less powerful?

What we want to do is challenge the perception, why should a disability make you any different to an able bodied person.
So let’s start the debate!
I really enjoyed reading this, and had never really wondered about this until now; would Maralyn still be famous, I doubt it, but then there are of course many famous people who are wheelchair users
Not sure she would have had the mental strength or approval to be an actress in a wheelchair. Even Roosevelt was keen to hide his. Things have changed, slowly. You still need determination to succeed and more-so than able bodied people.
