The Grain Store is a new Greene King pub in Cambridge. It’s got a great location, just on the edge of the town center overlooking Parker’s Piece. The pub has a very gastro feel about it (as most of them do these days), there are big steel tables, and some long wooden benches and a specials list written up in fridge magnet letters – which you have to admit is cool! They’ve also got four beer tanks that they apparently use and having tasting nights – can’t complain when there is free booze!
I didn’t eat there but friends of mine say the food is good. There are burgers, salads, ‘meat boxes’ which sound interesting and very tempting – the menu is pretty big, with a fair amount of choice! You can also go and get yourself some breakfast in this pub – whether its honey and porridge or perhaps a fry-up after a late night!?
The front door of the pub has 2 steps on the inside, but if you take the back entrance there are no steps but there is quite a large lip in the door way. However once you’re inside everything is a flat and smooth wooden or tiled surface and they have a disabled toilet too.
The Grain Store get 2.5 BBS Ticks, for their disabled access and facilities!
