The 1st of March was International Wheelchair Day and to celebrate this we put together a bar crawl around the City of London. Somewhere where access can be difficult due to the number of old/ listed buildings and cobbled streets. You can see Part 1 here, where we met a variety of accessible lifts, proving any building can be accessible!! Here we continue the journey….

The next bar to experience our sense of fun was Anise at Cinnamon Kitchen, they too had a wheelchair lift and their hospitality was very welcoming as you can see from the pictures.

Finally was  Social Bar in Tower 42, Old Broad St.. Part of  Jason Atherton’s Michelin Starred City Social restaurant(previous review here), where the cocktails were very robust! Especially the one you had to mix yourself which involved Whiskey and a potion for ‘the one you love’ , not sure if it worked but we were definitely very friendly by this time! The views are amazing once you negotiate the lifts …..

The staff were really friendly and joined in with fun of celebrating wheelchair day, embracing disability and creating true inclusion ………

It was a great night out and proved that no matter how old a building is it can be made accessible and that if you have the right information regarding access & facilities you don’t have to create a ‘military plan’ before you go out in a wheelchair. So carry on ………
