Blue Badge Style ‘Mix’ Concert is only a few weeks away now so we thought we’d share some information with you about the musicians who will be playing at the concert. The BBS ‘Mix’ Concert is on the April 14 2015, 7.30pm at St George’s Bloomsbury, London. Howard Goodall is a Brit & Emmy award winning Composer, broadcaster and writer who is supporting concert;
“I applaud the efforts of Blue Badge Style in establishing this scholarship. Musicians with Disabilities often incur extra costs in following their dreams and nurturing their talent. The celebration of such an inclusive and eclectic concert supporting the scholarship, will certainly go some way to helping with such cost.”
The Shooting Suns are an alternative/electronic pop trio from Cambridge. They are influenced by artists including London Grammar, Daughter and Coldplay, they bring together soaring melodies, driving rhythm and atmospheric guitar to produce a unique, encapsulating sound. James Christie (vocals/percussion/guitar) and Edward Taylor (guitar/keys) formed the band in late 2012, and over a few years the band has grown and developed dramatically. Gabby Martin (vocals/keys) joined the group in January 2015, offering duet vocal opportunities that form the foundations of the band’s powerfully emotive style.
The Shooting Suns have won the BandApp unsigned band competition, and supported Irish indie rock band Raglans on the Cambridge leg of their 2014 UK tour. Their popularity at Cambridge University saw them also supporting artists such as Ella Eyre and Dog is Dead at over 15 college May Balls. They have been featured by local BBC Introducing and self-released their debut record ‘Overload EP’ in May 2014.
