This is a guest blog from Sitara Warren, a new friend of BBS. She’s giving tips on how to successfully wear the new ‘Nude’ look for SS14 – (no it’s not a spoof or ‘the king’s new clothes’):
Seen the sun a little more, heard the birds singing, it is no longer pitch dark at 7am, can only mean one thing, spring is on the way. You could be forgiven for not noticing this, given the horrific rain and gale force winds we experienced earlier this spring. The forecast is to remain optimistic.
With the change in season, comes a perfect excuse to update your makeup with a gentle nod to new key trends.
Vogue’s take on one of the key trends is raw beauty – natural beauty to you and I. But how confident are you skin wise to scale things back to the bare minimum? Like many of my clients, I find this incredibly tough. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t wear loads of make-up, but I do like to look strategically done! Great thing about make-up is that it can hide a multitude of sins, but when the make-up is barely there, the best way forward is to up the ante on your skin care routine.
My hero product to take you from the ravages of winter to the lightness of spring is the Retinoid Resurfacing Pads by Arbonne. Retinol is a form of vitamin A and is one of the best ingredients for reducing fine lines, plumping your skin, decreasing pore size and improving the skin’s texture.
I have been using these resurfacing pads since October of last year and started to see an improvement in my skin texture within a week. On each use, simply take one pad, which has been pre-soaked in retinoid solution and sweep gently all over face, neck and décolletage et voilà. I used these about 3 times a week to begin with as retinoids have been known to cause skin sensitivity. After 2 weeks I experienced no sensitivity or dryness and could see a real change, so upped the usage to once a day.
So yes, I am now ready to go (nearly) bare!
I will be holding events in London to showcase Arbonne products, so please feel free to get in touch to be added to my mailing list.
Elle also has a good review of Retinol treatments as well see this link . Sitara will also be blogging about Nude Nails soon – so watch this space!
