Update 2018, Tom’s Kitchen has now closed at Somerset House but has been replaced by Bryn Williams -a winner of the 2017 BBS Awards.

Update Jan 2014, apparently this superb restaurant is due to close at the end of this month and relocate to a more central spot however the more casual dining of Tom’s Kitchen is due to open more restaurants in 2014. This will add to the one’s in Chelsea, Somerset House and Canary Wharf. We’ll keep you updated as always.

Update 10 May 2013: I have now personally visited Tom Aikens and following a superb meal (expensive but worth it) we have changed their rating to a fully audited maximum 3 BBS Ticks. The Piglet main course was wonderful. It’s elegant & friendly and is so spacious it can accomodate multiple wheelchairs. Additionally the disabled toilet has plenty of room to manoeuvre even with the storage of his props from the Great British Menu!!

Tom Aikens restaurant is in Chelsea. It is a Michelin Star restaurant that opened in 2003 and it soon “gained a superb reputation for its imaginative, intricate take on French cuisine.”

We haven’t audited the restaurant yet but we’ve managed to find out that there are no steps to get into the building and there are no steps inside. The restaurant is flat and spacious and has a disabled toilet with all the necessary grab bars!
