At BBS we try to be impartial when it comes to Political Issues, however a piece of news on Personal Independence Payments (PIP) has come to light following a chance meeting in a pub near the Houses of Commons.

The BBC reported on 26th October:

Personal Independence Payments will replace Disability Living Allowance only for claimants in certain areas rather than across Britain. Ministers said assessments were taking longer than expected and the scheme would now be phased in more gradually. Labour’s Rachel Reeves said it showed there was “chaos” in the department.

We can confirm via our source in the Government (who goes under the alias of ‘Gladys’), that the predicted “chaos” has been averted. The PIPs have been be given a makeover and a supplementary payment is being considered to support those who may lose out in the new PIP benefit. The idea of a secondary payment known as Personal Independence Supplementary Support (PIsS), is being considered for those in need of additional relief from the DWP changes in benefits.

According to ‘Gladys’ the Government want it to be known that this is not a climb down more a leg up for those in need of a PIsS.
