Cafe in the Crypt, St Martin-in-the-Fields Church, Trafalgar Square. By Rachel Yan Hui

It is a beautiful cafe underneath the church, St Martin-in the Fields, right next to National Gallery. There is a chic, stylish, round lift taking you downstairs to the hall. Then you pass the gift shop and a lounge and enter the cafe. It is built on top of tombs, which is quite easy for wheelchair to roll on the ground.
There is nothing special about the food but really good quality. Plus you don’t see as many tourists, instead, you are surrounded by working people having their work lunch or coffee with business partners.
There is another exit from the cafe, which leads you into the church! My friend on the wheelchair accidentally went in there and had to roll through a memorial service to get out! It was quietly funny in a sense.
In summary, it is indeed very accessible and interesting place for lunch or coffee. They do have a weekly night event which we wish to go and see.
Since then, I’ve been to their jazz night on Wednesday. It was quite cool. They also offer seating for wheelchair users but rather tight with space.

Cafe in the Crypt gets 2 BBS Ticks & here’s the link to their Accessibility statement , disabled toilets in abundance!!
