Randall & Aubin was established as a butcher’s shop in the heart of Soho in 1911. However, as the years went past and the area evolved into the environment of today the needs of London’s West Enders changed with the times. So in 1996 Randall & Aubin was reopened as a restaurant.

Today the restaurant embraces its history but brings the atmosphere into the twenty-first century with modern decoration and loud contemporary music. The history of the building has been retained with several of the original fixtures and fittings remaining in place and many certificates and mementos of the old days hung up on the wall.  The result is one of the best restaurants in Soho with outstanding fresh dishes and particularly good seafood. The menus are created and overseen by Head Chef Ed Baines, best known for being a judge on Britain’s Best Dish and for being an alternate chef on Sunday Feast

There is however a big problem for less able customers. Although they tell us that they have had people in wheelchairs come in there in the past, the restaurant is not very accessible. They very honestly told us that it tends to be difficult – they haven’t got a disabled toilet and the tables and chairs are all raised in a sort of bar level style meaning a wheelchair user would find themselves unable to reach anything.

Fortunately, Randall & Aubin also have a collection service or delivery if you are in Central London. So that might be a better option.

Randall & Austin gets a provisional 1 BBS Tick.
