There are two Dakota hotels in Scotland, one in Edinburgh and the other in Glasgow, they are unique boutique hotels which provide a bit of luxury at an affordable price.

The hotel in Glasgow has an accessible bedroom on each floor and all have a wet room with a seat in it and hand rails. There are no steps at the entrance of the hotel and they have an accessible restaurant and bar which are on the ground floor along with the fully equipped disabled toilet!

The receptionist also told me that not too long ago they held a conference for lots of less able and many people commented on how good the facilities of the hotel were – which has got to be a good sign!

All this earns Glasgow’s Dakota Hotel a provisional 2.5 BBS Ticks.
