Review Update 17/7/2013 following a visit for lunch:
‘……..the food and service were excellent but although it’s flat access be warned it is rough ground as you’re basically sitting in the middle of a plant nursery, in a field. We had 2 starters each for lunch and this was more than enough food. The pea risotto was delicious and the almond tart was home made and a great combination with cherries. There is disabled parking and a ‘quasi’ disabled toilet i.e. there’s plenty of room but only one grab rail and a low level WC…………. the location is really lovely as you sit amongst some beautiful plants and water feature. If you like gardening and good food it’s a delight’.

Petersham Nurseries is a well known secret in Richmond, Surrey. It’s known for the food plus it’s a garden centre. We haven’t been yet but they have flat access and disabled parking as well as a disabled toilet.
They’re only open for lunch and produce ‘seasonally inspired dishes created using only the best, most carefully and naturally produced ingredients supplemented with edible flowers and herbs from the Petersham House Walled Kitchen Garden’. It’s been described as the ‘epitome of chic… being quirky and original’.
It’s got rave reviews for the food created by Australian chef Greg Malouf and has one Michelin Star. However, they all say it’s expensive but not enough to put people off. Personally I love garden centres as you can buy ‘instant gardens’ – add good food and I’m sold. Will let you know the result of my imminent visit!!
They get a provisional 2.5 BBS Ticks
