Crazy Bear Fitzrovia is trendy cocktail bar and Asian restaurant. We wrote about the bar a few weeks ago in a Wednesday Wrap but we’re covering the restaurant too now. It’s popular amongst the richer parts of London’s media crowd and they have to be the richer parts as a couple of cocktails can set you back as much as £30.
The cocktails are outstanding if a little pricey and the food in the restaurant is also supposed to be very good (although we haven’t had a chance to visit yet). Crazy Bear won Best Restaurant at the London Lifestyle Awards in 2010 which shows it must be of a pretty remarkable quality.
The restaurant, on the ground floor, is essentially accessible, with no steps to get there. You can order drinks from a waiter who will then bring them to you from the bar in the basement. The problem is that the toilets are all in the basement which there is no lift to get to but only a pretty tricky set of stairs. If you can make it downstairs there are no disabled toilets. So the access isn’t really very good.
We give Crazy Bear, Fitzrovia 1.5 BBS Ticks. It’s very stylish but the access just is not up to scratch, particularly for such a luxury venue.
