A couple of days ago, as part of our April Fools’ Week Competition, we posted a story about a Star Wars fitness class. Now, I’m going to give you a massive hint here by telling you that that one was 100% true. Look, there’s even a video of it. But surely this fad of pop-culture themed gym sessions can’t have moved onto a 50 Shades of Grey workout? Or can it?
In New York, a fitness guru has come up with a workout, based around the bestselling books, called “50 Shapes of Grey”. There are 13 “sexercises” with titles like “bend-over-better,” “sexy scissors,” and “seductive squat”. Put together they make people more flexible and ready to do all the moves that Anastasia and Christian were doing in the books.
“A lot of people were asking me not about what they were doing but how were they doing it?” the creator says. “So I went through the book chapter by chapter, looked at the moves and prepared some exercises to allow people to do them”
For health and safety reasons, clients are not allowed to wear stilettos during the workout but are encouraged to pretend they are by standing on their tip toes.
The workout has become popular although among people wanting to spice up their sex lives. You may think that they were just trashy, poorly written books but they’re far more than that now; they’re a way of life.
